SprintCANOEING-KAYAKING: A race determined by speed alone. All flatwater races are called sprints, regardless of distance. SPEED SKATING: A long-track race of 1,00 meters or less. SKIING: The shortest cross-country race, usually 1.5 kilometers, in which any style of skiing is allowed.
